Yesterday Is Gone

Dear Aarush and Aayra,

Yesterday is the day before today. One very important thing we heard a lot of times but never understood really is, time never repeats itself. I don't know how much truth is there in quantum mechanics or all the time travel theories but, as far as I know, time never repeats itself. The situation can be repeated but the system associated with it won't. This is what we need to understand and accept. This will only help us to value present and give us all, hope for the future.

Yesterday is not only a day it is the past and it is gone. Dwelling on the past will do us no good. One needs to look forward to a new sunrise, a new day.

I clearly remember a few lines which I studied in my school time said by Mother Teresa

Yesterday is gone.
Tomorrow has not yet come.
We have only today.
Let us begin.

These are the lines of hope. These are the lines of a doer, not a quitter. If in future you feel low thinking about yesterday or your past just read these lines. I am not saying one needs to forget yesterday. After all, yesterday is the one which makes you experienced. It makes you learn all the good and bad in life. yesterday only builts or awakens your conscience. But with all this one needs to learn that it is gone. One must learn and move forward. If not learned we tend to base our thoughts, our emotions on yesterday. It will be yesterday, who will decide how we feel today. It is dangerous sometimes. It makes people living in the past sometimes.

The future gives hope. It gives you a goal. It is good to plan but it needs action, which can be taken today to shape the future. So, today is the day. It is not possible to change the past and to see the future so, take your learning and make most of today and move forward.

Good Luck!!

  1. Yesterday is a lesson and tomorrow is hope. In between we have present, a gift of today to make most of it learning from past. If we do it well, the better tomorrow is guaranteed!
Very well balanced post that is thoughtful and crisp.

  2. It might sound strange, but I feel these words like an assurance as a mother. Even after 7 years of being one, I struggle everyday. Yet there is nothing to do but live everyday as it comes and try to be as best as I can manage to be
